Cricot 2 - „Wielopole, Wielopole”

Spektakl zaprezentowany w Polsce w krakowskiej Sali „Sokoła” w listopadzie 1980 roku należy do najbardziej rozpoznawalnych realizacji Kantora. Spektakl został oparty na kanwie wspomnień artysty z dzieciństwa spędzonego w Wielopolu Skrzyńskim. Punktem wyjścia „Wielopola” jest niemożność zrekonstruowania wspomnienia, które wyblakło, umarło. Osią spektaklu są wydarzenia z życia rodziny artysty z okresu I wojny światowej oraz motywy nawiązujące do przeszłości miasteczka, w którym się urodził i wychował. Zaprezentowana na scenie fabuła jest z jednej strony rekonstrukcją świata zapamiętanego przez 6-letniego chłopca, a z drugiej strony historią przywołaną przez 65-letniego twórcę, który dokonuje oglądu swego dzieciństwa z perspektywy minionego czasu. The performance presented in Poland at the "Sokół" Hall in Kraków in November 1980 is one of Kantor's most recognisable realisations. The performance was based on the artist's memories of his childhood spent in Wielopole Skrzyńskie. The starting point of 'Wielopole' is the impossibility of reconstructing a faded, dead memory. The axis of the performance is events in the life of the artist's family from the period of World War I and motifs referring to the past of the town in which he was born and grew up. The plot presented on stage is, on the one hand, a reconstruction of the world remembered by a 6-year-old boy and, on the other hand, a story recalled by a 65-year-old artist who views his childhood from the perspective of a bygone time.
